Is the needle scaler worth buying?

This tool is used primarily to remove scale from heavy machinery or castings. It's not very good on sheet metal.

    rebuilding '30 tudor

I got the windows out just now. I found that taking the top window channel out (two small wood screws) and the two wood screws that hold the top of the side channels out, I could then pull the window out the top. Once I decided to do this, it only took about 15 minutes to do both windows. Purdy...

    American pickers Model A question

I would buy a car like that every day for $5000.00 If nothing else, it could be parted out for more than that. I also have a hard time watching the show. Those two guys are just a little too over the top for me.

    rebuilding '30 tudor

Purdy, thank you very much! I already have the panel out and you are right. They were a real pain to get the screws out. I had good luck using PB blaster and a hand impact tool. As soon as the sun comes up I'll try getting the glass out and let you know how that goes.

I'm with Peters180 on the exhaust. A little more thought in this regard would have been helpful.

    rebuilding '30 tudor

Started to dismantle my brand new project today.(see avatar) Didn't know quite where to start but the previous owner had started to take the rear side window regulators out so I decided to finish that. I've already done a AA truck so I'm not a complete novice in this. However, I am going to need...

29 AA truck, great marketing tool

Went to Craig's last Sat. and bought his '30 tudor. Saw this truck and feel that it needs to be seen to be appreciated. Craig said he couldn't post pictures here so I told him I would. This truck has the original tool kit/flares and the wood in the bed is original. Almost no rust anywhere! This...

    Bratton's 2012 catalog

I've restored a 31 AA truck using Brattons almost exclusively. Never a problem getting parts on time and in good condition. The people you talk to on the phone are all very helpful and actually interested in your project. I'm looking for another car or truck to "do" as this one is done and I...

    1930 ford 2 door sedan

It seems that this is two different cars. The shot of the right side engine compartment shows a stock distributor and the shot of the left side shows a modern distributor. Am I missing something? N. Reed

    Door Handles

Having been a toolmaker for almost 40 years, I can tell you that not all stainless is non-magnetic. The higher the quality of stainless the less magnetic it is. The nickel content is the determining factor. The more nickel is the steel the higher the quality, thus it is more expensive. Also...

Electrolytic rust removal of door parts

The carbon rods that I got are called "Plain Gouging Carbons" 5/8"/15.87mm P/N PGC-58-5. I think they were on the same page as the copper clad rods in the catalog. My son has my catalog right now or I could give you a page number. N. Reed

Electrolytic rust removal of door parts

I saw the "line of site" warning on a web site on eletrolitic rust removal. Since then I have bought carbon rods from Grainger's and found that the line of site thing does not apply. I was using re-rod and it did apply in that instance. The carbon rods are 5/8 in. dia. about 10 in. long. You get...

Electrolytic rust removal of door parts

I have used electrolitic rust removal for the whole door plus all the parts using a 150 gallon stock tank and a whole box of washing soda. It takes all the rust off plus all the paint and any sound insulator left inside the door. The small parts would be better off in a smaller container. This...
