Just remove the mechanical pump. They make a nice little aluminum cover that closes off the opening on top of the engine. As long as it is a low pressure pump like 2-3 psi area you should be fine.

Why run both? Wouldn't it make more sense to just let the electric pump run while whenever the key is on? I removed my mechanical pump and put in a low pressure K&N fuel pump and it seems to run just fine. Just my two pennies worth.

Agreed, big difference between junk and a well planned out rat rod.

I believe if you can get a stock style one that has less cores you will be happier. I changed from a brass one in my 68 mustang to an aluminum one with 2 cores vs I believe 3 or 4 OEM and its is absolutely unbelievable the difference it makes. Was it aluminum ? I don't know but the less core is...

I went with Monroe 32207, according to their website this is the correct length. Should be in this week.

Does it matter if it is a 6 V system or a 12 volt system?

Joe I used a k and n electric fuel pump on my 8ba build a couple years back, don't remember the exact model but it was a very low flow unit.

They have a lot of torque hence the reason for thinking of putting one in. But those A frames are pretty tiny!
