Thanks Guys. Kurt, I think your onto something. I'm heading to the shop tomorrow. I believe the timing gear is riding on the bearing surface of the timing cover. Not much room to knock it back unless the radiator comes out.

My 1936 Roadster engine is at a shop apart. It has a knocking noise from the timing cover area. Can anyone tell me if these pictures look correct? You can see the wear mark from the cam riding on the surface of the timing cover and the cam itself. I thought the gears should thrust the cam to the...

My temperature probe is in my drivers side water pump. Will I be able to use it if I drop in a slightly moddified 1948 Ford Flathead? If not, any ideas how to make it work? Thanks in advance. Mike
