    Clutch not engaging

When I put the car in gear, pushed the clutch pedal down, and started the car, it immediately jumped forward. Even though the pedal is pushed and things appear to be moving OK, it's as if there were no clutch at all. I'll take another look at the pressure plate through the inspection plate...

    Clutch not engaging

Everything under the car seems to be operating just fine. Removed the inspection plate and things seem fine there too. I'm not sure what I'm looking at but the clutchplate (?) appears to be moving when the clutch pedal is depressed. Not sure what else to try!

    Clutch not engaging

I've tried rocking the car with it in gear and my wife holding in the clutch, but no luck? Do you think taking the spark plugs out would make the pushing easier without the compression of the engine turning? Any other suggestions?

    Clutch not engaging

OK, I need some help again. My '30 Coupe had been bucking and backfiring when I received moved our home. I limped to the new residence and put the couple in the garage where it has set for a couple of months. I retimed the engine and it now runs great! My problem now is that I can't get the...

I have a full tank and the sediment bowl and separate fuel filter are clean. I'm wondering if the float valve in the carburator is sticking. Mike

Coupe sputters after running for a while

Need a Model A doctor to diagnose this new problem. We finally have a nice day here in Ohio and I decided to take my '30 Coupe for a spin. It ran great for the first few miles but then started to sputter. It wasn't a backfire but a sudden loss in power then followed by a burst of power. This...

fuel soaked exhaust pipe on start up

Not sure if this is your problem but I've had the float valve inside the carburetor stick open, flooding the carburetor and causing fuel to pour out the back and onto the exhaust. Normally, a few taps on the outside of the carb jiggles the valve closed, however I did need to replace the valve...

Very fine rust in gas tank-what to do?

I had the same problem except the "dust" was so heavy that it continually clogged the fuel line. Even though I had zero experience in such matters, I figured that it would never be trustworthy unless I removed the tank and cleaned it. To clean it, I poured in 100 steel washers and nuts...

    Need help diagnosing new symptoms

The problem just developed when I tried to replace the coil. The old coil tested inconsistently so I bought a new one. I could never get the car to even start with the new coil, so I put the old one back in. That's when the problem started. The car idles just fine, but when I step on the...

    New coil doesn't work

Guys, My 30 Coupe has been running a little rough and I tested the resistance in the coil and found some inconsistent readings.... so I bought a new coil from Gaslight Auto Parts. The new coil tests perfectly, however when installed, the car won't start. On the outside of the coil is printed...

    Fan Removal -- 2 Blade

Seth I removed the radiator which gave me complete access to the fan and water pump. It's really not hard to do, just two bolts. Mike

    Removing rear brake drum

I released the emergency brake (which makes sense) and hit the end of the hub puller with the BFH and it still doesn't budge. Maybe I'll pick a different wheel and see what happens.
