im inserting it to were the two halfs meet i dropped the pan and cleaned it and replace gasket

now im really confussed. i had the right dip stick in and after adding 5 quarts after dropping pan it read quart low. used a flat head 8 dip stick and it read correct.dont get it

droped oil pan and added 5 quarts checked oil level was down a quart. went to hershey this week and saw a box of model a dip sticks some long some short. bought the long one put it in and oil was full why the two differant size dip sticks. thanks

looking for 35 ford wheels also going to hershey so could pick them up there. thanks

thanks for all the input. As i previusly posted I dropped my oil pan and found lint covering my oil pump filter cleand it and put pan back on. car starts cold with 20 lbs of oil pressure as it warms it droppes to about 2 lbs at idle on road driving about 40-45 I have about 5lbs using 20w50w...

Just wondering what is the normal oil pressre at idle and at driving 40 or 45 on a 29 stock motor. thanks

thanks for all the ideas off what it might be. after cleaning all the lint off I cleaned it with gas and it looks like fibres from a rope gasket. everything looked good and all gaskets were in the block as they should be so I have no clue how it got there. bottom off pan was spotless. no build...

I have no inspection cover on oil pan the oil pan is off.if it was worn seems like it would be making some kind of noise. this motor is very smooth and quiet

any way to check condition of timing gear without pulling cover off?

Hi I pulled my oil pan on my 29 sport coupe and found what looked like lint plugging up the screen any idea how that much lint would get in oil pan? also put in 5 quarts oil after installing pan and oil level is just above low mark on dip stick. thought it held 5 quarts with completly emty pan

I have a one piece shaft. 29 sport coupe

tried to set brake cross shaft arms in the middle but one arm is tilted forward and the other arm is tilted back. nothing is loose or seems worn. is this normal?. having hard time setting brake rods

5 wheels with almost new bf goodrich tires. one wheel has a crack near spoke used as a spare. would also consider trade for 5 35 ford wheels
