    The Unofficial Vender List

For any other Canadians on here, we know that shipping can be a real dealbreaker these days. I get a lot of stuff from Norm Dumontier at MidCan Suspension in Winnipeg. He sells rebuilt items like carbs, water pumps, and such. Always uses old Ford cores. He carries all maner of engine...

    Pull engine with transmission attached?

I don't know about those '49s showboxes, but in the 52-54 years there is a cross member that the transmission bolts to. If you leave the transmission attached when you pull the engine then you'd save yourself removing that cross member. You can slide the transmission out once the engine is gone...

Advice on setting clutch pressure plate.

I finally got a chance to go work on the car this weekend and I measured the variation between the height of the clutch levers and got 8 thou at the max. I am hoping this is within the tolerance. I also got a chance to measure from the housing to the levers and compare it to the 7/8"...

I have to wait for my wife to develop the film to see the photos, but I did take this video. Come to think of it, the 235s do look kinda cool on the back. Maybe I'll keep running that size. https://imgur.com/a/uPNatXf

I've had my 54 Meteor in a quonset hut since I picked it up last June while I get the engine all tidied up on a stand. Evidently its pretty dark in there and there are things I'm still noticing about the car. This saturday after putting on some new water pumps and running the 8BA with coolant...

Advice on setting clutch pressure plate.

Appreciate you sharing your experiences. I have left them tight after getting advice here. My theory as to why the gap between the pressure plate and the bench was changing is because when they were loose there was a gap between the bolt head and the surface of the fingers which was allowing...

Advice on setting clutch pressure plate.

Maybe a few photos would be a good idea... The three bolts which secure the fingers to the black cover are currently tightened all the way When viewed from the side, the pressure plate is lifted off the bench That gap is about 3 1/16

Advice on setting clutch pressure plate.

Thanks It’s an old clutch. The engine is on a run stand. Yes the clutch fingers have three small bolts at their ends with slots cut in them but I’m speaking about the big bolts that hold the clutch fingers to the clutch cover. Right now they are fully tight and there is a gap between the...

Advice on setting clutch pressure plate.

I am hoping to get some advice on adjusting the 3 bolts on the clutch pressure plate which control the fingers. I understand that all the fingers need to be set the same height in order to make contact with the throw-out bearing. I just got a new unit and right now all the bolts are all the way...
