That green 28' Roadster was a prototype. What caught my eye was the front shocks. They were still figuring things out.

Free iPhone App for Model A Drivers

Cool little app. Just took it for a test run. Is there a way to post a screen shot? It would be fun to compare results in "Sport Mode".

    Wheel Balancing Beads-History

I've tried beads. In my opinion the beads are worthless. I can run my roadster 50-55mph on 21" tires with no shakes, shimmies or vibrations...smoooth (three o's). No weights or beads just tires and tubes. Tires wear even, no flat spots, cupping or anything like that. I keep them rotated...

Illegal to have only one tail light in NC?

I have driven Model A Fords in North Carolina for over 50 years. I have never driven one with two tail light and I never will, nor will I drive one with seat belts or turn signals. It has never been an issue. With that being said, I seldom drive my model A after dark. I just don't like to do...

Warford in the Way of Removing Hogshead.

I was able to move the engine forward with an engine hoist just enough to get the hogshead off without the shaft separating. I found a broken quick release band and another band that had broken ears. I found some bands on eBay and relined with kevlar. I got everything back together and I'm...

Warford in the Way of Removing Hogshead.

After studying it, I think i'll approach it from the front, lift the engine and slide it forward enough for the hogshead to clear the Warford.

Warford in the Way of Removing Hogshead.

It's the front of the Warford transmission that is in the way. I wish it was the tower. The center bolt of the springs appears to bolt to the crossmember of the frame.

Warford in the Way of Removing Hogshead.

I lost reverse on my 1914 runabout. I adjusted all I could but still no joy. Band replacement is in order. I have the Hogshead ready to come out but the Warford Transmission prevents me from getting it out. If I could drop the rear end and let it slide back about an inch I believe I could...

    Fan Belt Slips Off

I removed the water pump and i'm seeing how things go. It leaked and I tried installing new packing with poor results. The belt slipping off problem is solved. I'll find out if my radiator is in good shape this summer if not before.
