I dealt with that goof a few years ago on some carburetors and he sent me the wrong parts and said he would make it right and then he went silent and wouldn’t respond. It cost me a lot of money on top of what I had already paid that creep.

As long as the fenders are painted Black and they stay away from metallic colors I’m okay with it. To me nothing ruins the looks of an otherwise stock Model A than non Black fenders.

Wheel balance is going to be the problem. There’s a lot of weight in one wheel/tire/tube/flap assembly. I had my front wheels dynamically balanced on my AA but the fenders would still shake over 50 mph. Hard to keep the original look wheels and tires and go fast in a smooth manner. Really...

I think the body styles that were traditionally turned into hot rods back in the 40s and 50s are still holding good values. Roadsters and Coupes (not sport coupes) done in a traditional hot rod style are popular right now and that has kept the price of project and finished bodies fairly high...

I just had a similar issue with a flathead 6 Continental on an air compressor when I went to sandblast my Model A body last month. The motor had sat unused for several years but was loose enough to turn easily by turning the fan by hand with the plugs in. Wouldn’t fire up for love nor money...

Nice looking Truck! I bought my 31 AA when I was about the same age as you are now. Nice to see some younger guys step up to the plate to preserve the old stuff. You and your family will have a great time with it. I’ll cross my fingers for you and hope you have the 5.14s.

Bob Drake Ford parts is in Grant’s Pass. Perhaps a call to them might provide some useful information. They had a bulletin board in the store where locals post Ford stuff for sale.

When I had my BB I adapted a model 400 Hone-o-drive. They are a little hard to find though.
