    Adjusting doors, 29 roadster

Pulled the quarters together with a ratchet strap, probably pulled the doors in about 1/4 inch on each side. Then I welded up a small crack in the left quarter panel, reinstalled the wood pieces (with glue) and I also made 2 small angle irons (1 for each side) that I screwed to the inside...

They do look better in the pictures than real life.

    Adjusting doors, 29 roadster

Thanks. Seat trim rails, is that the same as the wood part numbers you refer to? Top socket mounts, is this the little tabs that stick up from the quarter panels, that the top bows are attached to? The doors are original Ford, I do not believe they have been messed with before.

    Adjusting doors, 29 roadster

The car is not driveable at the moment so I don't know if they are staying closed when cornering yet. Maybe I'll just leave them as is for now and keep on working with other stuff that needs to be done to the car.

    Adjusting doors, 29 roadster

I'm working on a 1929 roadster and I'm trying to get the doors to fit a little better than they do right now, see pictures. I know they weren't perfect from the factory but I would like them to fit a bit better even if they open and close decent at the moment. Should I shim the wood body...

    Radiator cap gets loose

I gave the ears a few taps with the hammer, seems to have tighten things up a bit. Will do a test drive when it stops raining.

    Radiator cap gets loose

The radiator cap on my 1930 A gets loose from engine vibrations/driving. There are no unnormal vibrations, the cap is just very easy to open by hand too, you barely have to touch it and it opens. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Radiator cap is a new one, same one that is sold through...

Thank you Terry. Yes, I do know a couple of other A owners.

    Bought a 1930 Coupe

Thanks for the replies, I'm very happy with the car. I do have a 1936 V8 trans that I've been thinking about swapping in with a kit from Cling's but I would like to figure out the stock trans first, mostly for personal satisfaction.

Went for a drive, shifting is getting better.

    Bought a 1930 Coupe

Plates arrived yesterday, drove it to work today. All went well but I must admit that I'm not a fan of the Model A transmission. Extremely short 1st gear and no synchros will take some getting used to.

    Tillotson leaking fuel

A new correct fuel line with new ferrules did the trick, no more leaking. Thanks for the help.

    Tillotson leaking fuel

Thanks for all the advice. Ordered a correct fuel line with fittings and a gasket set for the Zenith from a Swedish dealer. Gonna try and change the fuel line with fittings first and see if that cures the leaking.
