    Blocking manifold heater tube

What I have done on a couple mine…. If the “tube” is through the firewall on the engine side I take an oil filer tube cap and remove the insert then screw it onto the heater tube. Very neat and clean look. Winter time I put the top portion of the heater on and remove the cap takes all of about...

    16" Wheels

Hi Fred, The tires are 6.5 X 16. No, they did not rub anything. Obviously we all know that there are a lot of cars out there running 16” wheels I think it really comes down to personal preference. To say that there is a right or a wrong is not correct. Mike

    16" Wheels

Fredski53....you should take some time off and come to the desert for a while in the wintertime and get out of the cold snowy weather!

    16" Wheels

I recently bought a Victoria that had the 16” wheels on it. Attached is a picture of the car with the wheels....Last week I was able to buy a set of 19” wheels and tires for it.... For me the looks of the car with the 19’s is much better. The ride of the 16’s is better, the 16’s are not affected...

    Spring Lube ?? Additional....

My understanding is that sometime in the mid to late fifties the springs began to be made out of a different steel. The new springs are supposedly not to be oiled or greased. I personally do not understand this next part but if you oil or grease them it will somehow change the molecular makeup...

    How to fix damaged threads

Hi Steve, I cannot see a way to cover the hole that will be left behind without putting on new door panels. However you should be able to make what you have look much more “presentable “. If you google automotive interior spring clips you will find a nice selection of fasteners available. I’m...

    New or Used Parts

Hello Hugh, I understand why you want to go hydraulically, please let me elaborate a bit. I have three old vehicles...my 1931 Slant Window, a 1966 Mustang hardtop with a 289 V-8 with automatic, then a 1951 Ford F-1 that is a hot rod. The A as previously stated has mechanical brakes, the Mustang...

    New or Used Parts

Ok, I will respond to your question. I just redid my brakes, I went to the cast iron drums but stayed with the mechanical brakes. They work flawlessly ! There is absolutely no way that hydraulic brakes can be better. If I push them hard they can and will lock up. With that said I do not see the...
