    Help Seeking Engine Hoist

Karl, Thanks for the offer! That could work. I’ll ask my father-in-law if there is an overhead beam in the storage bay and will PM you if it’s an option. Thank you, -Mike

    Help Seeking Engine Hoist

You know, I didn’t think of that. I already have a hoist in Mass but I could put it up for sale cheap. It would sure cost less than renting. Thanks for the idea!

    Help Seeking Engine Hoist

Thank you for the kind offer but I’m flying out and driving back. On the drive back to Mass we will be passing through Boise and visiting the Wendell wrecking yard and a lot more. Planning a two week casual drive. Thanks, -Mike

    Help Seeking Engine Hoist

I have a rebuilt flathead which is secured to a pallet at my in-laws in Hillsboro, Oregon. When I visit next week, my plan was to use a hoist to pick it up and lower it into the bed of the pickup truck. My father-in-law doesn’t have a hoist so I was planning to rent one from a local...

Found Kelsey Hayes and other(?) wheels

Looks very close. The “brake drum” on the wheel that I have appears to be larger in diameter. Thanks

Found Kelsey Hayes and other(?) wheels

On a Sunday Drive, for no real reason I doubled back to a barn sale. Found a Kelsey Hayes rim and two other wooden spoke wheels. Here are a couple of photos. Does anyone recognize this type of wooden wheel and possibly what make/model they are from? They are mounted with Allstate 5.00 - 21 inch...

    V-8 Times

Late? As long as it shows up about every 60 days plus or minus a few days I’m happy. The date of the publication on the front cover doesn’t matter. Magazines don’t have an expiration date,….. not like a gallon of milk that turns sour…..

    1933/34 Chrome & Cadmium Question

Hmm…that must be why the plater told me that nickel was expensive, he’s speaking from today’s point of view. And like chrome plating, the nickel plating also starts with copper. Copper was applied to this shift lever and e-brake handle, followed by the nickel. These pieces are unbuffed/brushed...

Happens every time! My solution is to type in a text editor then copy the text. After that is done I go back to the post, open a reply and paste the response.
