Good advice , thanks everyone , replaced all conv. wires one at a time with good 12ga wire and and connectors and he at shrink , everything is nice and tidy and looks pro. Now on to the alternator.. Wish me luck .thank you !

Not sure about the regulator , electrical is something I just recently acquired the balls to jump into

i call them bullet connectors . i'm not sure of the proper term but you can buy them at most part stores , male and female ends

yeah , checked battery voltage while at idle with lights on and went from 12.8 to 12 to 11.9 to 11.7 and kinda hovered there over about a five minute span

I've grown up without power steering and brakes and it doesn't really bother me , you just have to lay back and give yourself room to stop , your not racing anyway. just make sure brake pressure and pads are good . it worked in 55 it'll work in 15

My 55 fairlane with 302 and 12v conversion runs great and holds a charge until running at night with headlights. Car doesn't shut down and lights don't dim but after reaching destination and shutting down battery is dead . any help is greatly appreciated , thank you
