The pump bracket is mounted on to the top of the flathead by removing two head bolts at the end of the head and then placing the bracket on the head and using two slightly longer head bolts to fasten it in place. The pump then bolts to he bracket.

The pump on the engine would be easy, since the pump is mounted on a bracket that bolts directly to the flat head.

You are correct they were dipped in vinyl rubber origionaly and when I redid mine, I dipped them in black Plasti Dip.

The correct "wire looms" for a 53'. The last picture shows the brackets (looms) that came on my car, when I bought it (on the right) and the correct ones one the left.

My pan. Your gasket looks to be more of a rectangle than mine. Mine appears to be more square. You might want to measure our pan first.
