    replacing exhaust manifold

I had to replace both manifolds because the original had over a half inch ground off. I bought new studs in case I would need them but the entire project took 30 minutes and was very pleasant. I used a jack under the muffler to hold it up. The only problem came after I stared the engine...

    Current values of Modal A's

There is a practical side to this. I am 54, finally have the time and money to get an A. I choose the A over the T and several other option (Willies,Dodge) because I could drive it daily. I have several friends who think the same way. They don't want a parade car they want a fun car they can...

    Clutch pedal went to floor

New part ordered, but I welded up the old one and it is working now. I thought about emergency fixes though. Before I put the new part on I wrapped some heavy gauge wire through the hole and up to the linkage arm. I was able to actuate the clutch about 13 times before it stretched to much to...

    Clutch pedal went to floor

Just wanted to mention, as I left work last night at around 11pm there was a small crowd of co=workers snickering at the "Old car broke down" . When I started the car in second gear and drove out of the parking lot with no trouble they changed their attitude about Old and simple being worse...

    Clutch pedal went to floor

Thank you all for the help, this is what is great about this forum, The arm is cracked on both sides so I ordered a new one, I did turn the shaft by hand and sure enough, it was not turning enough with the cracked arm. Should be an easy repair, I am checking with a friend who may know someone...

    Clutch pedal went to floor

As I looked under the car this morning the first thing I noticed was that the clutch operating arm was cracked, but it couldn't be that simple, the arm still moves the shaft fine. So I guess I will have to remove transmission and bell housing. That is A little intimidating to me. I want to...

    Clutch pedal went to floor

I was driving to work today and the clutch pedal just went to the floor. I was able to stop and didn't see any obvious linkage breaks. Restarted in gear and made it to work. What should I look for first?

As a new Model A owner I just want to thank Ryan and all the members of this forum who offer advise, support, and knowledge. I could not successfully be a happy owner, and drive my A without the information on this forum, I would have given up in frustration. Thank you all for your help.

    Gav

I started this thread because I had read that the GAV should not affect Idle, yet it does in my car, even when I have the idle as low as it will go without stalling the engine. But, I have also read an article on Carbs (Model A Basics site) that the GAV does little to affect gas flow once...
