The transmission case I have is the early ‘28 case with the larger bore for the idler gearshaft. My transmission is not too bad, will probably replace the bearings an the lower gear, but I am going to reinspect the cluster gear and shafts again before I decide on gears. The shaft bushings are...
I do drive, try to get it every couple of weeks for a drive nearby. It is not perfect but I sure enjoy it. Got a great assist from a almost local couple of great guys. They had a clutch with some FT Wayne relined discs, gave a great deal. I picked a flywheel from them too, but it may be in...

The speedometer on my early 28 Model A RPU has not worked since I bought it. While removing the transmission/rearend to change the clutch I noticed the cable spun on the speedometer drive end, does this mean the gauge is seized up? Is there a good way to check without taking the gauge out?
What material or fabric was used for the top on an early 28 Model A open cab pick up? The top I have appears to be vinyl and the frame is definitely not original.
I have an early 28 Model A RPU with the split brake cross shaft, both shafts are worn pretty flat. I have read that some have had these welded and machined back to the correct dimensions. Is there a source to have this done or is it best just to look for a set with less wear?
