I bought a re manufactured in Japan Hitachi Datsun B210 points distributor for $36 plenty of Hitachi based options out there for under $80 Points and Dizzy. I only need a new cap and rotor plus a little time on the lathe and mill.

The hold down groove is a brilliant FORD simple solution. The impingement should only be enough to keep it from rotating !

While on the topic of converting old hitachi dizzy distributors I found a new clone of the old points style fitted with an igniter. One could revert to points or use the cross reference numbers to locate a "Datsun B210" distributor REF https://www.hot-spark.com/1-HS-HIT4-Distributor.htm

Steve have you had a chance to survey the Jeep Distributor timing /curve? Can you advise a model number or Jeep vintage you modified from? Matt
