    1927 Model T value

Thanks for the input. It doesn't sound like $7500 is an excellent deal. I'm more used to pricing Model A's. An A in this condition would be worth much more. I'm surprised the T's are worth less. I guess you learn something everyday! It does in fact have the Ruxtell 2 speed rear end. We...

    1927 Model T value

Hello everyone, my dad has a Model A and is looking to buy a Model T from a neighbor in town. I'm familiar with the A but this would be my first experience with a T. My dad is 86 and drives his A well, it was his first car, but he said he only drove a T one time when he was a kid. I've been...

    Another membr passing.

So sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He was SUPER friendly guy who constantly offered to help me with Model A "issues". He was so excited last year about being invited to show at Edisons house. I'm glad he was able to do that. He will be missed around here. Goes to show that we need to...

    0 compression in #1

My dad's A had that problem when he first bought it. We soaked the valve with PB blaster through the spark plug hole and then tapped it down with a screwdriver and hammer. I had to hit it pretty hard at first. It continued to stick up with every revolution of the cam. I had to tap it down...

    Model A cost in today's $$$

I believe a big difference between then and now is the percentage of consumers that finance. I've read that 100 years ago only 2% of homes/land in the USA were financed. I can only imagine this also held true for vehicles. Americans have been fooled that consumer financing is an acceptable...

    Stories about Henry Ford

OK so I spent an evening with my great uncle who went to Ford trade school in 1937 and worked for Ford until 1982. His dad, my great grandfather, worked for Ford from 1910 to 1958. I asked him to tell me some good old stories about his time at Ford. He came up with two stories and they both...

New guy to the Barn - 1929 Model A

Update 3/22/13 My dad installed new brakes on the front. We took it out for a drive yesterday and it stops much better. They seem to be dragging a bit though so he is going to make an adjustment. He is also making some progress with the sanding and body work. Updated pic below.

    Stories about Henry Ford

My Great Grandfather started working for Ford in 1910 in Detroit and two of his sons (my grandfather and great uncle) all worked there for most of their lives. They all met Henry on a few occasions and attended his funeral. They are both still alive and live near me. Next time we are all...

New guy to the Barn - 1929 Model A

Late update for awhile 2/27/13 Was able to work on the A with my dad last night for 3 hours. Installed the new horn button, removed and cleaned a number of grounds, cleaned the vented gas cap, changed all of the fluids, messed around with a few other things. Drove it around the block again...

1930/31 Sidemount spare tire arm and frame bracket

Hello, please see attached picture. It's not the best. As you can see, the fender has the spot for the spare tire but there is no hole or bracket in the frame rail piece. Let me know what you think. Thanks! -Matt
