    Car starts and then stalls

The car was running until a couple of months ago. It starts but then engine stalls and dies. What could be the problem area ? I retimed it thinking the problem could be with timing. I have old Tillotson and untested Zenith carburetors. Changing to Zenith was even worse, backfire and not...

Generator not charging - maybe ?

Thank you all, but something isn't making sense for me. How can i measure -12.2V at point B when the engine/generator runs ? Shouldn't it be the voltage generated by the generator assuming the cutout stuck in open position.

Hi Benson, I don't know if this is a Fun Project Regulator. Should I un-bolt it and take it off before putting a jumper ? What would it say at the bottom ? When I checked the voltage, the engine was in fast idle.

Hi, I have for about a year Ford Model A Sport Coupe. I'm new and learning my way while fixing here and there, thanks to all great experts here. My Ford is an older restoration - 12v ground positive. The current issues is that ammeter never goes positive. It does show dis-charge with lights...

    Removing rust from engine

30 Closed Cab PU - I don't see any signs of water on the engine so don't know what caused this rust. Maybe the previous owner replaced water pump. (a) what signs or symptoms of the weeping or blown head gasket (b) how to determine if I get coolant in the cylinders

    Removing rust from engine

I have a Sport Coupe Model A'30 that drives well, but the engine has paint peeling and rust. I'm thinking to beautify and to repaint the engine, but not sure about the process. Should I first wire brush it to remove peeling paint and some rust. Do I apply rust dissolver to the engine or it may...

Doug, you are amazing. I tightened the bolts on carb and manifold and noise disappeared. I was about to take off generator and belt and also remove distributor to search for dry bushing, but what you suggested was the solution. Thanks to everyone for your advice !
