    Coupe Body Panel Joining

Hi. I have a 29 coupe that I disassembled, a little too far, 25 years ago. After starts and stops and getting the chassis done, I am making another push on the body. I wasn't in a club then, and if I was I'd have done things differently. But alas, here I am. To keep it simple, Where can I find...

    ? Flywheel Ring Gear ?

I like the 290 idea. I'll pass it on. Thx. I do sort of like the weld idea too. It seems like a few evenly spaced beads right next to the ring would prevent it from coming off and could be ground off if the gear ever had to be replaced.

    ? Flywheel Ring Gear ?

Adding to an old thread here rather than start a new one. A fellow Model A-er had his ring gear come loose. It didn't fall off, just spun on the edge of the flywheel. It was trapped there by the back of the engine. We got it back on by: - Taking spark plugs out - Hand cranking the engine...

Thanks Rusty! I understand the wood now, and will likely use this legroom trick once the car is back together. Love this forum! Marty K

Thanks Dennis, your pic helps. Do you happen to have one of the pkg tray support?

'29 Std Coupe "Corner Rail" and Pkg Tray Support wood?

Wow! Coupe wood is just does not garner the kind of attention most topics get, I guess! :) Two replies in two days...! Tom I did do a search for your post but no luck. Plus my friend has a Tudor and rebuilt it from ground up so he'd probably recognize something that was very similar. Thanks...

    JB Weld

Never heard of it. Maybe it's not sold in the Midwest? When I was growing up the Auto Parts stores here all had two valves with their faces epoxied together with JB Weld. It was like steel. I've used it to patch a cracked block (water jacket external leak) on a '76 Camaro and it worked. Really...

'29 Std Coupe "Corner Rail" and Pkg Tray Support wood?

Hi. A friend-who-grew-up-with-and-knows-everything-about-Model-As is helping my restore/make/buy the wood for my '29 Std Coupe. I saved everything when I tore it down, and he's got everything identified, except 3 pieces. Cubel's Fordwood site lists a 1146 and 1147 L and R "Corner Rail". But...

    Plate Glass or Not?

Yea, I didn't have a flame handy (I bet in the past everyone had a zippo in their pocket) but I used an iPhone flashlight which I DID have in my pocket. When I held it up to any window on my Model A or any window on any modern car in my driveway I got 3 reflections, from bright to dark. Only...

    Plate Glass or Not?

Ed, did you get yours made somewhere in Pinckney? One more question. Does everyone replace the rear window (backlight) with a safety-type glass too? Marty

    Plate Glass or Not?

Oops. Instead of "model lay" above use "Model A"! Voice-to-text didn't work so well there! :-)

    Plate Glass or Not?

Thanks John Buckley for your question a few posts ago, and thanks Mike K for your reply. I have noticed this geometric pattern before when wearing polarized sunglasses and so took those glasses and tried them out and all my cars just now. On the model lay I see no geometric patterns on the side...

    Plate Glass or Not?

Hi all. I just bought a '28 Briggs Fordor Leatherback. It was restored 30 years ago by the person who owned it before the person I bought it from. My question is, how can I tell if the side glass is plate glass, or if it's been upgraded with tempered glass? The top of the windows are painted...

    So, did the springs work?

    Can this crack be repaired?

I patched a 2-3 inch freeze crack in the block of a 305 V8 in a '76 Camaro, right above the starter, in about 1985. I sandblasted the heck out of the area, mixed a whole tube of each part and put it on. I drove the car for a year, my sister drove it to college for a year or two then sold it...
