Model A models for tall drivers?

We have a very tall member in our club. Before he bought a car he came to a meeting and tried several cars on for size. He eventually chose a '30 town sedan. Marty

    New hood latches?

First, welcome to the Barn. There are several suppliers for your needs. At last count I had 7 catalogs from different suppliers. You don't say where you're located, but there may be a supplier near you. I like Synders and Berts, but there's also Brattons, Mikes, Tams, etc. Look around. Marty

    Running board trim

Thanks, Brent. White vinegar and a gray pad worked for me. Now my running board trim looks like a NEW garbage can. Can't ask for more than that. Marty

    Running board trim

Thank you Brent and gdmn852. You answered my question! I just want to clean them up and not replace them. Sometimes you ask a guy what time it is and he'll tell you how to build a watch. LOL Marty

    Running board trim

Thanks for your replies, but again, I'm looking to clean/shine the trim. I'm under the impression that the trim is zinc plated as a magnet sticks to it. Pure zinc will nor attract a magnet. Marty

    Running board trim

My '30 town sedan has the zinc coated trim on the running boards. After all these years they look like an old garbage can. What will clean them up? Marty

    oil filler tube

I didn't have a muffler pipe expander so I laid mine on a piece of soft wood and tapped the inside of the pipe with a dull punch. The small dimples on the inside made small pimples on the outside. End of problem. Marty

    Model 'A' Boo Boo's or Oopsie Daisy's

I was supposed to escort a wedding and earn a $50 fee. I had to cancel and upset a new bride because my car wouldn't start. After working on it for a week I discovered a blown fuse. I lost my $50 fee for a 35 cent fuse. Marty

How to get tour spouse unit to drive a Model A a LOT

What a timely post. Yesterday my 18 year old granddaughter asked me to teach her to drive a "stick shift." The only one we have in the family is the Model A that I've been driving for 33 years. So, on Wednesday we are going to have a lesson in a '30 Town Sedan. Wish us luck. Marty

    Floor Mat

Don't mean the steal the thread, but I've wondered for some time. Which Model A's had carpet installed originally? And, was it at the front seat as well as the back seat? Marty

    First Time Painting A Car?

We have a member of our A Team who painted his entire coupe with 37 cans of Krylon. It doesn't look too bad. Marty

    radiator sealer

Upon further investigation I found that the radiator is not leaking. The leak was at the lower hose. I've got it all apart, cleaned up and painted the lower metal tube, and will put it back together with new hoses. Ray, the radiator shop that you referred to is Thomas Radiator off Cleveland...

    radiator sealer

Thank you all for your responses. I'm learning! I've owned this car for 34 years and never had any problems with the radiator. It's been boiled out a couple times, but now it doesn't seem to be a good radiator shop in north east Ohio. Marty
