Oil grease travelling up speedo cable

Thanks for the various comments. The inner and outer speed o drive cable came from Brattons. I will order a new set and then see how I clean out the Speed o.

Oil grease travelling up speedo cable

I have a 1928 RHD model A phaeton. Fully rebuilt. Having done approximately 7500miles since the rebuild. I have suffered for some time grease escaping from the outer speed o casing, having been drawn up from the connection to the gear box. It has now traveled as far as the speed o head and...

Converting fixed wheels to demounable ones without using demountable rims

Thanks for the comments and I will also try on the suggested alternative sites. In the meanwhile I am attempting to attaching to post a picture of a 1915 T clearly showing the adaptor studs complete with domed nuts, for information.

Converting fixed wheels to demounable ones without using demountable rims

I understand your comment about having different size wheels in the US. But my T is a 1915 Canadian built one with four 30 x 3-1/2 wheels, as most if not all T's in the UK are. Although mine was imported from Canada, relatively recently I will attempt to find a copy of The Model T Ford Owner...

Converting fixed wheels to demounable ones without using demountable rims

In the UK it is possible to purchase a kit, that I understand is a reproduction of a period one, that by fitting studs to the hub back plate's, and the outer plate is screwed to the wheel, with a second outer plate screwed to the rear face of the wheel. The centre of the wheel has to be slightly...

    My "1927 Mercury" phantom

Thanks for the response. You mentioned a 3.27 to 1 diff and close ratio box, together with various engines. What are you currently running in it ?

    My "1927 Mercury" phantom

I am looking into reducing the roll in my 1928 Model A standard phaeton and looking again at your you tube video up Prescott, it would appear you have done something to the suspension, to alleviate the rolling, but which is not obvious in the various pictures you posted. Can you explain, please.

Fitting a Pannard Rod to a standard 1928 Model Phaeton to stop body roll

Thanks Chuck for the info. Being in the UK, and although a member of MACGB, the members are spread thinly across the UK and it is difficult to get a response to a question, which if posted in the club mag can take a minimum of four months to get an answer, as the mag is published by monthly. As...

Fitting a Pannard Rod to a standard 1928 Model Phaeton to stop body roll

I have a 1928 model A Phaeton, that is standard and fitted with original repro shocks (new 1700 miles ago), but the body rolls on corners. Whilst it has a High Compression head and Over Drive fitted, which allows it to comfortably cruise at 50 mph on main roads, the body roll is a pain. I have...
