Question- RE Mounting The Tudor Body to the Frame

All, thanks for the feedback on the frame welting. Would't the body square up if the holds in the frame and body have not been altered once you get the body bolts in? Where would you check for squareness from, LF to RR mount holes and RF to RR mounting? This would be pretty tough unless the...

Question- RE Mounting The Tudor Body to the Frame

In the A parts catalogs they show frame welting and mounting block pads. Question: Do you need both? It's my understanding that the frame welting is for squeaking, but it your using the rubber pads as shims for door alignment it would seen there's no need for the special frame welting...

Who designed he Model T engine

The Model T factory water pump was dropped after the first 800 model ts. Don't let any one tell you that you need a water pump on a model T, that's a myth. If your car overheats then you need a new radiator...it's just that simple. I driven my T on tour in over 100 deg temps w/o a water pump...

    26-27 rear spring U bolts...

Just a head up, the Ford Model T Club of America..

When I was the webmaster for the MTFCI many years ago, we had to switch for similar reasons and lost almost all of our forum users to the MTFCA. I guess that won't happen to the MTFCA since the MTFCI dropped their forum some years ago.

    Main bearing oil leak

I agree with Brent and James, the rear main clearance has always been the issue when this has happened on my Model As. To avoid doing it twice, it needs be set on the tight side closer to .001.-.0015. From my experience, it still leaks if set to .002. It's a bit of a pain to do while the...

    After Sandblastig...What have you found...

The only way to prevent rust from eventually bubbling through the paint some years later is to use quality automotive grade epoxy primer under your paint. It's expensive, but will not allow any moisture pass through the finish. Lacquer primer begins absorbing moisture from the air as soon as...

Big Bore/Small Bore Model A Engine Block

In the engine serial number listing, a small bore (14 HP) and a large bore engine blocks are referenced. What are they referencing? Was there really a 14 HP model A engine used in the UK?
