1937 Ford two door standard slantback, Washington blue,original interior, 55000 miiles, V8-60, everything works and car is in very good original condition inside and out. It has been repainted but otherwise is all original. Engine is detailed and runs perfectly with no issues.

His name was Rich Willim..the go to guy for the V8-60 flathead... Roy Nacewicz is across the road from Rich..both used to work for Ford. RIP Rich

There was also a heavy duty V8 60 transmission available as an option. It was used mainly by trucks and taxis. It had similar gearing as the 85 hp transmissions.

Call Bob Hall in North Carolina 704.732.1202 He has them specially overhauled by a NASA engineer...total rework inside..no leaks.

I like the little buggers and critters also! I have two restored stock engines, two good running take outs, and three complete non running engines. I have a 37 two door slantback with a tin sided sixty not leaking, a 37 two door slantback and a 38 two door humpback. ..both with iron sided...

Most 37 V8 60 powered cars were tin side engines with aluminum heads and tapered water pumps...they screw in/out..the 85 hp engines have different pumps. Rather than add another tail light on my 60 standard cars I bolted on Ford fog lights on the bumpers...they serve as brake and turn signal...

Regarding the leaky water pump...try to find a NOS 37 Ford tapered water rebuild kit or at the least one of the new kits on Ebay...be sure to smooth out the surface on the back of the pump and the surface on the back of the impeller and then follow the rebuilding instructions...finding the...

Normally a V8 60 can be tuned and massaged to run quite well...a rebuilt 81 carb, rebuilt distributor and freshened coil, plugs and plug wires can go along way if the ring blow by is not too bad..check the compression.....I have two 60 powered cars and would never take them out as they run great...

Very nice job on the pre war midget...nice workmanship! You might want to check some of the photos in the Fox midget book showing dash gauges and steering wheels...many of these V8-60 cars built before the war had an aircraft oil pressure gauge in the center...a 1940's water temperature gauge...
