did you check your battery cables, if they are the new 12 volt small cables, they want carry enough amps to start when hot..you need the larger..no.2 at least size cables..both pos. and neg. and the cable from soln. to starter and a good ground cable from engine to frame and body..good...

sounds like you are dealing with a lot of monkeying around done by previous owners, 12 volt coil on6 volt sysm. resistor bypassed,..sounds like someone went the wrong way trying to solve the problem...I would set everything back to stock..get the dist. rebuilt by bubbas..get a stock style coil...

any time someone ask what yr. it is ,I say 46 because several times people have wanted to argue with me if I say its a 47, they say no its not..the 47 had parking lights below the headlights, so I say , if you know so much, why did you ask..so I find it easier to just say 46 and let it go..even...

all your cables need to be # 2.. from bat. to grd. and to starter soln. and to starter..and use the heavy duty braided grd strap from eng to frame and body, it makes all the differance, if your starter and gen. and regulator and bat. are in good condition, you want have any problems...

the other guys are right, if everything is correct you shouldn't have wheel wobble. I would first jack it up and check the wheels by shakeing them from top to bottom and side to side, top to bottom you should just have a slight amount of loose play, too much its either loose bearings or worn...
