Reno Sparks Meet ..swap meet ? June 18

We are vendors at the swap meet. It runs Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are in the indoor portion of the swap meet and were been told it is on the third floor of the Nugget Hotel. Exactly where on the third floor, I'm not sure. We've also been told that the outdoor...

MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?

Davey, You are right. A SIG is the acronym for Special Interest Group. There are currently special interest groups for various body styles in both MAFCA and MARC.

MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?

Brent, I agree. I am interested in seeing it restarted for selfish reasons. Not to spearhead it myself, but to benefit from others' expertise. I am willing to help, but I don't have knowledge or experience to do it myself. I know there are a lot of people out there who have those skills...

MAFCA Phaeton SIG Inactive - Interest to restart it?

I spoke with Jim Cannon, who did some research on the status of the Standard Phaeton SIG. It turns out that the group is inactive. Is there enough interest in restarting it? There is a Facebook Phaeton group. Is that sufficient? What are people's thoughts? If there is enough interest...

    new old car for me

Wingski, Now you know where the comment came from, "I don't get in my Model A, I wear it." It's a tight fit for most of us with 28-29 models. The 31 Slant Windshield Town Sedans are probably the most roomy. We have a 1929 Phaeton, I'm 6'2" and weigh 260 lbs. I'm sandwiched in the car pretty...

    Inner Tube Valve Stems

We have experienced the same thing you did, twice in one year. But I agree with Tom. The metal valve stems are more accurate if you care about the look of originality. With a 30-31 car the longer metal valve stems make it more difficult to fill your tires with modern air hoses, but you have a...

    More photo fun

Ray, Don't pay any attention to the one-star general. I thoroughly enjoyed your pictures. And I agree with Bill, the forest scene is great! Robert

    2014 Nationals pictures

Thanks for the pictures guys! I was there but didn't get some of the shots you guys did. 7_0 you're quite the photographer -- great work! For those of you that didn't get to go you missed out on a fun time. The photos you see really illustrate both the cars and the scenery we enjoyed. Robert

    Happy Birthday Brent!!

Brent, Happy Birthday! And, from a self-centered point of view -- "live long and prosper!" I say self-centered because I, like many who have already posted, value your extensive knowledge and your ability to see through the smoke that occasionally arises. You have the ability to see the "big...

    License Plate Toppers

Our club is thinking about having a license plate topper created with the club logo on it. At regional meets I've seen a few cars with club toppers, but when I searched the Ford Barn threads I could only find one small thread from the early V8 board that didn't help. Have any of you had...

Intnl Model A Ford Day 2014

I agree with Carl -- black would be more accurate, but I vote for white. A Black car with black tires will be a lot of black on the car. The patches in the past have had a lot of black too. Combine the two and I don't know what kind of appeal it will have to the average Model A'er.

Help with 7 tooth steering rebuild

Thanks Dave! Do you by chance have any specs for the steering shaft? I took it to a machine shop and the machinist noticed that the area where the lower housing bushing sits is slightly larger than the rest of the shaft. I figured it was just ridges from the grooves, but a small area immediately...
