    Grease

The modern zerks from Bratton are too large for the holes in the shackle. I've decided to just reinstall the orig fittings. I'll use the grease gun nozzle fittings from Bratton to lube the orig, then change the fitting for modern. Nothing should have been this difficult if only the things...

    Grease

Where can I find the proper size that will fit the spring shackles?

    Grease

I started to do the replacements on the spring shackles and the zerks from Bratton are just too large.

    Grease

I turned them with a fingernail in the groove and was pretty sure they weren't threads, so I took a couple to Home Depot and tried them in their threat measurer deal, and of course they didn't fit any, confirming they were press-in, not threaded. I've decided the problem is mostly in my lack of...

    Grease

Thanks all you folks... I'll crawl under it tomorrow and get it done.

    Grease

I ordered the "modern" zerts from Bratton, and they sent me two sizes and a tool that is used to hammer in the "new modern" zerts in. I hammered/cursed the old ones out (only two so far), and have tried to hammer in the new ones... won't go in. Do I need a bigger hammer or more strength? They...

    Grease

Have 1928 Model A, and the grease zerts are not the modern ones (with little ball bearings), but the ones that are conical shape with a hole in the center. Question: Are these zerts threaded, or or they pressed in. I ordered modern ones from Bratton and they all seem (two sizes they sent) to...

    Optima 6V

Great idea. However, I'll need to buy a 4-door so I'll have room to sleep.

    Optima 6V

I left the ignition switch on and my Optima 6V battery discharged down to almost zero. I have a 6vdc charger on it for 12 hours and it will only charge up to 3.5v. Is there a secret about charging this type battery, or does it need replaced?

What do you think - Running Board Step Plates Yes/No

If (?) I wanted to install the step plates on a '29 Coupe, where on the running board are they mounted, as measured from the front of the rubber. Can't seem to find any "standard" measurment.

    Dealing with mac's. Auto parts

I'm a newby Model A owner and just starting the final 20% of the restoration, and have been ordering parts from Mac, and several of the items just don't fit; to wit a battery hold-down which is at least 1" to short of the studs. Are all Asian parts this bad? Is there any vendor who sells good...
