don't rule out a head gasket. i've had a head gasket burnt out between #3 & #4 knock loud and go away when retarted. Might try a compression test to see what you have without taking anything apart. good luck

I have a early 31 68B and I had to replaced mine. I think it uses the same pan as the coupe. I got mine at Bert's. If you give Steve a call, he will be able to fix you up with the right one.
