John, The latest Optima is approx. 3/8" higher than the old Optima that would fit perfectly in our old 2LF that has been hogged out. That is why I designed a new battery door cover so when you look underneath you can't detect the Optima. The last thing you want to deal with is good old battery...

Put the hoses in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes remove them with groves and they will go on like you are handling a stick of butter. Use this method when attaching all hoses on the engine. Turns into a 5 second job. Happy Easter! Happy V8ing! Larry

John, There is ample clearance to connect the original battery cables to the posts on the new Optima. You need to insulate the bottom of the new cover with a piece of rubber say rubber roofing material. Spent a good bit of time coming up with a minimum workable dimension. If there is interest...
