Thank you for the diagrams! The car is the deluxe model so I do believe the cowl lights are original but will still do as you suggested to be certain.

Re: alllightson Thanks to those with all the helpful suggestions. I did change the title to...''headlight & cowl lights on at same time''. This weekend I will remove the light switch body and see what sense can be made of it.I'm sure it's the original wiring in there.

When I turn the headlights on the cowls are also on. There seems to be just a high beam even when I switch to low beam. Basically all the light are on when I move the headlight/ cowl light switch. But the taillights never go on but the brake lights work. Where does one begin to unravel this ...

ALMOST FORGOT. Do I need any gas resistant packing grease when the manual gas valve is reinserted into the tank or is the pipe thread sufficient? Thanks.

T.Wesenberg reply#3.. Forgive my ignorance but what does ''lapped the tank valve'' mean? I'm going to replace the manual gas shut off valve because I suspect their isn't a screen on it otherwise how could debri get past. Thanks.

Last fall before storage I closed the shut off valve and ran the engine until it sputtered. (I also have an electronic shutoff). Two days later noticed carb was leaking. I let it leak all winter. Yesterday I cleaned out the sediment bowl, drained the tank ,refilled and drained several more times...

Where are you shipping this car from and to? Do you want a closed or open trailer?
