used to use a lot of it but stopped when it got to 9 bucks a quart, now i use a little old style atf has to be a good cleaner to keep auto trans super clean and it's also a lube.

Put some oil in cyls , let it sit for a day or so to get to the rings, then turn over, it should start to get better.

8ba flywheel will have pp bolt holes drilled through flywheel , you should be able to see them with starter removed , i think.

i put a 4"merc crank in a 40 block and used the stock single pulley

Re: I think I found the problem but…. Don't understand your problem a 10" or 11" to me should work, is your throw out bearing in the fork correctly and is the pin sheared. Can you shift the trans when car is running ?

I used an angle iron with an I bolt drilled in the top of the angle , i will check but i think it is 1 1/2 angle. It fits down in the vally and when you pull it up it locks in under the three bumps , can be adjusted front to back to balance motor. look up Mart he is the person i got it from

Is the whole tumbler turning, is the plug or a set screw on the bottom missing that holds the tumbler ?

New rad does not mean that it is any good, may be plugged up from factory.

I've seen a ss deflector for sale that mounts on rad and grill support to push the air through the rad rather than letting it go over the top of rad. I know that if ford needed it would have been on cars when built but that doesn't mean it won't work. What do you think ?

There is a spray cleaner that you can get at a marina, it's called MERCURY POWER TUNE, fill up the carb and let it sit, it eats up all the crud. Works on anything with a carb, great stuff.
