    Manzel adapter

The pictured stand is the later Ford aluminum engine stand which uses a splined shank on the adapters. You can search on www.fordtoolcollector.com. I have uploaded most of the K.R. Wilson catalogs including the 1940 issue. There should be a picture of it. I believe though that the B engine 4...

    Tobrin head lifter

There was a pair of these this year on EBay and they sold for big bucks as I remember, $70 or $80.00. Tobrin was a company in Connecticut as I remember and they were the forerunner of the Perfect hand tool company. Tool with wooden handles. They are rare indeed.

    Valve Seat inserts

I do know from watching T blocks fitted with valve inserts that they can come close to hitting the intake and exhaust ports so it is recommended that you reduce the thickness on the inserts you might use in a T block.

    Valve Seat inserts

I use a K.O. Lee valve seat cutter on Model A engines. I check the finished diameters and use the stainless seats sold by Brattons or Snyders. The valve seats come in about .005 oversize to what my K.O. Lee cutter finishes at so I polish the seats for a .003 diameter press fit. Throw them in the...

Head/engine pulling adapter and engine stand adapter

What everyone states here is true. I attended a high school which had a woodshop, electric shop, machine shop, and an automotive shop. 10 years after I graduated no more shops and the school became a college prep school. I retired in 2017, but continued working part time because tool makers are...

How The Model A Ford Engine Was Built

Rick Black, I watched several times in the video where a long jig is levered down into the block and a workmen with two ladles leans over the jig and makes three pours of the liquid babbitt. How quick could it have solidified? Would have like to have seen how they align bored the mains and if...

    KO Lee Valve Seat Cutter

Dennis Bensavage has nice copies of the K.O. Lee seat cutter instructions. He is on ebay. The K.O. Lee seat cutter sets come two ways. One with a hand cranked spindle cutting arbor and a set which has a motorized slow rpm driver. I tried getting some xtra R103 cutters which I use on Model A...

    Chickasha 2023 thoughts??

Brent, I had hoped for many years to be able to attend Chickasha, just never made it. I had gone for many years in the 70s, 80s, and 90s to Hershey and have been an attendee to Iola, Wisconsin since 1975. I've seen many things that have in one way or another affected the appearance of good parts...

    Nu-Rex wrench ???

In regard to the NuRex wrench having been formed 90 degrees off when placing possibly in the forming or bending jig, I informed Bob Gary of the issue and he immediately told me he would send out out a new wrench and to destroy the bad one. I can't say how many wrong formed wrenches could be out...
