    need new bumper

I have a Ford 1931 Model A roadster. I just had a front end accident. I need to get a front fender, a set of brackets with bolts, and a right front bumper with space for a spare tire, with the necessary hardware. There are a few other parts but those are the main ones. The bumper seems the...

snap on door arm rest for 1931 roadster

Thanks for the link. The only problem with this item is that it is unclear if it has the snaps. The description says - "Great idea to protect your door paint. Clips into side curtain studs. Available in tan canvas. Used on all open cars. Soft napped backing. Fasteners NOT included - Order...

snap on door arm rest for 1931 roadster

When I bought my 1931 deluxe roadster it had Snap-on cloth arm rests on the top of each door (see picture attached). Somehow the passenger side has gone missing. I've checked on some Model A parts website and have not been able to find one. If anyone has an idea where I can buy one (or a new...

    cowl and rear lights

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. As I mentioned, I purchased some replacement bulbs and changed the rear one that was not working and one of the cowl lights. Now, when I use the turn signal (either left or right) both the rear lights and the cowl lights work fine. What a relief!

    cowl and rear lights

It is strange that only one bulb works, both with the light switch and the turn signal switch. I hope that means that the wiring is good. I just ordered new bulbs. Hopefully all I need to do is replace the bulbs. I dread the idea that the wiring somehow got messed up. My mechanical did do some...

    cowl and rear lights

Thanks, I already tried that. The only light that comes on is the rear right. I just ordered new bulbs. Hope that fixes the problem and I don't have to check all the wiring - maybe it'll be something simply. But, somehow I have a feeling (like so many other issues) it'll become a big job.

    Size of driver's seat

Hi Jayjay, Turns out, one of my books has the measurements of all three model A models. Unfortunately, not all not all the measurements are shown in each model. Strangely, the few in the front seat area are the same or very similar. Of course, I've gotten use to managing to get in and drive...

    Size of driver's seat

My first Model A was a 1930 Tudor; my second was a 1931 deluxe phaeton. My current car is a 1931 deluxe roadster. I never had a problem getting into my two previous cars. I could even easily get into my phaeton with the top up. I was in my 30 - 40's when I owned the first two cars. I'm now 75 -...

    cowl and rear lights

The previous owner of my 1931 deluxe roadster installed a turn signal. I noticed that right rear light does not work which I assume is just the easily replaced bulb. I thought the cowl lights would also be controlled by the turn signal but they do not light at all. They also don't light when I...

device to jump start my model A

Is there any kind of device that I can carry in my model A to jump start if the battery does not have enough power? In other words, if I go out for a drive, park the car, turn off the engine and then have a problem restarting the car.

    Car would not restart

Just about everything in my car is now fixed!!! Only thing left is a few gaskets to stop small leaks and replace the gas gauge float. My car starts right up all the time and runs great! At last I'm back to where I was so many years ago with my last Model A. Thanks to all for your suggestions and...
