In 1990 I modified a 70's Honda Alternator to use a fan on my 39 Std coupe. It worked well for almost 30 years with no bearing problems. Still working today after I sold the car. Alternator cost me 5 bucks

Use MGB rear shocks

Do what Lawrie suggests, OR after cleaning, grinding the burrs, etc, buy & apply Graphite paint available at Tractor supply stores, then reassemble. This works well and doesn't require wrapping the springs, as the paint won't attract dist, etc., as the grease will.

14-16 ga should be fine

I also use the Pertronix with Packard 440 wire. My 39 is still going after 29 years & the 32 more than 11. Just lucky, I guess. I'm too lazy to change them now

You might try a company called Concourse Parts. They sell parts for 50's Fords. I bought from them a firewall insulator for my 56 Ford that is made like the 32 pics you provided. They might be able to put you in touch with whoever makes their stuff for your application. Just a thought Jim

I second the vote for the Packard 440 wire

I agree with JSeery Use of a relay is smart & takes the load off the ignition switch, if you are using it to turn on the pump. Seems like I remember a pump made by "Autopulse" when we were kids

Just do it right & buy the 12 volt unit
