the f2 plates fit the f1 spindle, i wasnt sure if its an actual f2 backing plate because it has ebrake cables and i thought all f1 and f2 had them on the driveshaft.
alright, so the f2's between 1948-56 rear backing plates (with ebrake cable holes) i can use on f1 spindles?
does any one know the overall size of the f2 backing plates?
i know they take 12" drums, but i wanna know the size of the backing plate.
im looking for a set of brakes for a project...but would like a lil more info if anyone has any ideas.
i know the early f2's had a single piston brake wheel cylinders on it.
and i know the rear's had dual piston wheel cylinders on it.
my question is, does the rear also have ebrake cable wires or...
Im not sure, but it didnt start off as Vin Numbers.
More likely like serial numbers....to help keep track of how many were being produce, model and make identification.
I would suppose the same reason the started labeling guns with numbers and manufactures back in the 1800s
