Going to look at one next weekend and if its worth saving it will be coming home with me,it has a six and I have a 55 car 272 that needs a home so if I get it the 272 will be going in. The local junkyard has everything to put the car engine in it but since it could be my daily driver it will...
I picked up a 61 292 for my 55 and want to use the original temp gauge but I think the 57 and up heads are made for a smaller temp sending unit,is there a sending unit made that will work with my gauge that will fit the later heads or will I have to drill out the head.
Have not read all the posts but is it getting 12 volts to and from the switch, many years ago on a 65 Galaxie the turn signal switch in the column went bad and no brake lights.
Took one off a 68 XL convertible and took me awhile to find one since that was not a very popular option, had a few trees keeping the doors closed and weeds due to no floors and critters filling the interiors full of leaves but eventually found one.
My 65 Montclair has the o/d and it will need to come out to be repaired so I would like to stick a regular 3 speed in so I can still drive it so are the two trans the same length, the trans will most likely be coming out of a 68 Country Sedan.
My 65 Montclair has the warning light and the switch is broke, anyone know how long that parking brake assembly was used. I am going to hit the local old junkyard and see what I can find.
Done more tests to make sure the kick down switch works and it did not initially work but found another broken wire, two broken and three burnt wires in the harness but all are fixed now and will remove the solenoid next.
Relay works and not sure about the governor and need to check the kick down switch before I get parts but when hooking power to the solenoid it wants to arc even with both wires disconnected from the harness,I found three burnt wires in the harness so something sorted out.
I have a 65 Mercury Montclair with a 3 speed o/d that does not work,it had burnt wires so they been repaired but still no o/d. Been running tests and relay is good but even with both wires to the solenoid disconnected and the relay grounded when the blue wire is hooked up to the solenoid it...
