Never been apart, original inside (with 40's-50's era seat covers), rebuild engine, paint on the outside years ago, that little visor fits perfectly and has been there for years - probably the original owner did it.

    Pulled over by the Police!

Two police stories. My father used to borrow my 29 closed cab pick-up truck to give his friends a ride. One day when he parked in town on Main Street, sitting and watching people and talking to his friend in the truck, a car backed into the parking place in front of them. This car miss-judged...

    Keeping that barn fresh look

Try Penetrol by Flood. It is made to add to oil or solvent based paint to help it flow out better, but it is a great old paint seal and brightener. Rub it on, rub it in, and wipe off the excess, let it dry. Putting it on is A LOT easier than wax.

Wood wool - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_wool Wood wool, known primarily as excelsior in North America, is a product made of wood slivers cut from logs and is mainly used in packaging, for cooling pads in home evaporative cooling systems known as swamp coolers, for erosion...

AA plumbers truck or is it an express truck?

Quite a few years ago I bought at auction an 28 AA closed cab, original paint, 28K miles, long running boards, rear fenders, spoke wheels etc. But with no rear body. It had been a stake sided flat bed potato truck out of Aroostook county and they probably took the body off and used it on a newer...

    Sand blaster

For a home setup, the most important thing (other than your lungs) is the compressor - needs to be min 20 cfm. After that you need a cabinet siphon feed (I use glass beads/used silica mixture) for smaller items and a pressure pot for the outdoor blasted big stuff - save the media with a big tarp...

Where to find Tudor kick panels?

I bought a 3x6 sheet out of a car dealership in the mid 60's but it wasn't the same pattern as the Model A's. But it was close enough for me at the time. They told me that it had been there for 10 years or more and was used in trunks, but wasn't made or used anymore, so I could have it for $2. I...

Where to find Tudor kick panels?

You can get upholstery cardboard and cover (glued on) it with black vinyl (sewing area in walmart etc.), this what the professional shops are doing. The problem with the cardboard available is that after time and moisture it gets wavey. I have used 1/8" plywood before and 1/8" insulation board...

Where to find Tudor kick panels?

Use the originals for patterns and make some yourself. This is a good chance to get creative and not do any harm that is hard to undo.

    running boards on pickup

I have seen 2 different repro boards, not counting the Rootlieb. The first one was straight across on the front and back ends where they are bolted to the fenders. this is not correct and they were fairly light gauge metal. The second set were made correctly with a little rectangle bump out...

    Worth saving?

You also could also buy the back and 2 side wings (repro) and make that into a open cab pickup. The beds and rear fenders etc are relatively easy to find. Or build a nice pickup length wood flat bed with racks that would look good and go along the later farmer modification. From the pictures it...

    Happy Birthday to me....

Sleeve it back to the stock bore. The best running/sounding engines I have heard all have been stock. This only an amateur observation on my part, after having stock engines and one that was 80 over and hearing other peoples over the years, but I am sure there are many other things that go into...

    1928 pickup seat backrest removal.

A soft top cab is slightly different than the closed cab pickup. The soft top/open cab has a wooden rail that is bolted to the top of the back metal panel. This piece of wood goes the entire length of the back. It is wider than the metal flange that it bolts to. Running the length of the area...
