Correct Color for the Unity Series 2 Fog Light hardware

I'm restoring a set of Unity, Series 2 Fog Lights for my 34 Ford Cabriolet. I've cleaned up the metal parts that secure them to the bumper brackets which are painted a low gloss black. What color should I paint them? In the past I have copied the body color, but it never looked quite right...

    1934 Speedo issue

My newly installed speedo doesn't work in the cabriolet. The head unit has been checked out professionally as OK, the cable is new and can operate the head unit via a drill, so the problem must be the turtle. Before I tackle removing the turtle is there a right way or a wrong way to install this...

    On the road again!

My 34 Cabriolet is finally through the New Zealand Certification process and is now back on the road again! I’m now onto finishing off the interior that I left bare for the inspection process. I thought some photos may be of interest. It’s been a mission and I would like to thank all those...

    34 Petrol Pump issue resolved

A few weeks back I posted about my close shave with gas pumping out of my carburettor and the subsequent fire risk. As per suggestions I had the petrol pump pressure tested, it was a whopping 6 psi! After looking at all the options I've had a Malapassi Petrol King installed and the pump is now...

    Stromberg 97 Issue

Thanks guys, I've taken note of all your suggestions and will post any results. I have a filter between tank and carb sitting inside the chassis at the back. The engine is reconditioned and has only just been started, the carb was new out of the box. Yes the headlights are 33! They were my best...

Hello Brian, How would I determine the pressure that the fuel pump is producing?

    Stromberg 97 Issue

This afternoon Flathead Ted came over to check out the Cabriolet, now nearing completion. I fired it up and suddenly it's running rough and gas starts streaming out over the garage floor! Quickly I turned it off, averting total disaster. Undoing the main inlet we discovered an S-Jet inlet valve...

A phone number for Westcotts Auto in Oregon

I'm a New Zealand member of the Ford Barn and would like to get hold of someone at Westcotts Auto in Oregon by phone. Does anyone have a regular phone number for them, as opposed to an 800 number, as I cannot access these numbers from here. I've also had some trouble emailing them. I'm after...

    34 Cabriolet window installation

Any tips on how to install the windows in a 34 Cabriolet? I've had a couple of tries and no go. They are heavy and awkward and don't want to sit in the track. What am I doing wrong? I have replaced all the various rollers in the frame and they appear to be working smoothly.

    re 34 Cabriolet Sun Visors

Thanks for that reply. It solves a conundrum. Keep well, here in NZ we are in 4 weeks shut down, each family in total isolation, only essential travel allowed.

    re 34 Cabriolet Sun Visors

I was under the impression that 34 Cabriolets did not come out with sun visors. However, I came across a reference to them actually coming out with them fitted in 'Early Ford V8s As Henry Built them" on p. 111! Can anyone confirm this? If so, what material would they be made out of? Mohair? This...

Side Anti Rattle bumper on a 34 Rumble lid

I understand that at the top of the channel that the rumble lid sits in there is a an anti side rattle bumper. Does anyone have a pic of this. None of the early part suppliers seem to have it although they do stock the top dome rubber stop and the bottom square rubber stop.

    1934 Cabriolet Rear Window Frame

I need a 'correct' 34 Roadster/Cabriolet rear window frame. This is the 'letter slot' model that measures approx. 5 inches by 24 inches. I'm happy to pay the 'correct' price! This needed to complete a new hood for my 34 Cabriolet.
