Modern Valve kit and a Stromberg 97 on an slightly upgraded A engine?

I have a touring engine balanced crank, better cam etc. I found the stock .043 jets in the 97 were perfect. I would recomend a new carb. John

    Wheel paint

That is a good idea. We took a paint scraping from the wall of a room and had it matched. There were areas on wall with no paint. We painted the bare areas thinking we would need to repaint whole wall.the mixed paint matched so well you could not see difference. Good technology. John

Dash Light for '29 Model A

This is off topic. I found my original 30 light ran really hot. I put a LED turnsignal bulb in. Now it runs cool and I can leave it on to-see speedo at night. John

    Rebuilding the engine Richard Fallucca

My model A club has used several engines by the Indiana shop that follows Rich’s formula. They have been very good engines. Since lead time is about a year we keep an engine on a stand for members to purchase. I have one of Rich’s in my Tudor. 30k trouble free miles. John

    Infrared thermometer recommendations

The only criteria I have is no 9 volt battery. They are hard to change and I never have one in stock. The ones that use AA batteries work fine. That thermal energy one is neat. John

    Ron Kelly Engine valve seal

I had a valve stem starve for oil on long trip.It was due to a faulty oil filter design. I ended up having to replace valve guide and wallowd out seat I would not put a seal in it,more oil is better. John

Installing a gear drive starter in a Model A

The geardrive starterv engages its pinion in the flyeheel gear8before it starts turning. It also engages from the front of the flywheel. For this reason it will work fine by not reversing the ring gear or considering ring grear wear. John
