    wind wings

In our club I have a member that has had issues with the rubbers not holding. I gave him some 3M 35lb mounting tape and it's been 3 years since and holding well. But you do of course, have to cut the tape in the shape of the old rubber. So far so good.

    Transmission Roller Bearings

Note: While the WWII transmissions were not the most durable, the cluster bushings were just fine. This is the Borg Warner T-84. And yes, the later transmission, the T-90, was very durable. I ran a Chevy V8 with one with little trouble.

    Transmission Roller Bearings

Joe K said: "Some here have considered making a "bushing" center for the cluster gear. Brass sleeve. The principle apparently works fine in other period transmissions (Chevrolet?) and opinion has not coalesced on the practicality of this for the Model A three speed" Yes, I am one of them...

    Transmission Roller Bearings

They were unaware of the problem??? C'mon man, everyone knows about this. Tom Endy and reputable suppliers have been struggling for years on this subject. Either they are lying to you, or they don't sell Ford Model A parts. Sorry if this sounds blunt but really?

    Ditched the "Air Maze"...

It has nothing to do with the carb. Except getting dirtier by the mile. Dust & dirt, and other particles are getting into your valve stems, guides, cylinder walls, Rings. Of course Ford never used a filter. Engines didn't go that long anyways back then. But now, they are and need the...

    Transmission bearings B-7118 & B-7121

Maybe it would be a good idea for any and all vendors that see this to chime in with what they have or not. This isn't an easily changed out part. I still want to someday to make a bronze bearing replacement. I'm tired of all this. When I retire (If and when!) I want to do this.

    I need a Project

Jim-This is already in the works. I don't know the details but it is happening.

Help, now afraide to drive it.

My wobble only happens at 5-10mph AND I am braking. Seems also my brake drum might be out of round. If I don't brake, no shimmy ever. Check that as well.

    Speedometer Cable Lubrication

I did what Paul did. I had a ticking noise at about 30mph and above. His trick worked fine for me. I carefully lubed the speedo stuff as well.

    Wing-Wing Installation

I wouldn't. Go with the tape and it will be instant and strong. Adhesives in this situation are not trustworthy.

    Wing-Wing Installation

We tested a wing-wing in a club car and after 2 years, still holding great. Go to the hardware store and buy a roll of 3M heavy duty fixture tape. It's black like the old rubber you have. Cut them out of your rubber pattern, and you will be good to go. Hope this helps

Broken light switch rod - How to repair?

If you have welding skills or know of a good welder, I would weld it. Soldering it may be hit or miss. MIG used quickly and allowing each weld to cool may be you best bet.

Starter bogs down when coil wire attached to distributor

Timing too advanced. Have someone turn the distributer while you crank on it. You'll see things pick up quickly.

Transmission Question - How concerned should I be?

That piece on the right photo is part of a gear. Pull the transmission and rebuild it.
