    cylinder sleevesMachine Shop question.

I have installed many sleeves...you bore the block .125 over to accept the sleeve...the best way is to leave a ridge at the bottom 1/8 to 1/4" high...but if you bore using a hone type machine you can not leave the ridge (most modern shops only have hones) then I freeze the sleeve and heat the...

    Radial tires on 21" wheels?

Not sure what you expect...but at above 70 ...air gets under the fenders and the car drifts in the wind...makes some scary driving... lhe tires you are looking at are for European sports cars and they indeed would look funny on your wheels......Goodyears or Firestones will easily run at those...

    NOS factory engines

Back in the 60's I bought one of those GAZ engines from Ford Parts Obsolete ...When I had it rebuilt we found metric rings ... easier to just install new pistons and rings... The engines were NOS with 4 speed truck transmissions... I did not want the transmission..

    Using Pay Pal

I also NEVER use Friends and Family....It is not honest...and it is a lie...no matter what, it is still a lie...and for 3 or 4% I won't be a part of it... not thrilled with folks that do that either...it is just wrong to lie. Little ones make big ones.

    Using Pay Pal

I love Paypal... I operate a small mail order business and sell antique motorcycle parts...some of which are quite expensive...so getting an $800 bad check could really hurt... I figure that using any sort of credit card will cost me at least 3% so if I use Paypal and pay 3.5 or 4% it is just...

    Model A paint

You can buy paint mail order...and in Kalifornia where we can not buy lacquer paint to paint an entire car, you are allowed to buy lacquer to repair a part of a car that has been damaged that has a lacquer paint job. You may have to buy it in quarts but what the heck..it is a way around the law.

When I learned engine repair lots of years ago...we were taught how to knurl piston skirts...then we would undercut the ring grooves and install what was called "expanders" it really worked well...the knurling not only made the skirts expand but held oil in the skirt area... It was cheep and...
