Hi all, I shouldn't have done this, but my starter is apart. It looks like you have to spread apart the four copper contacts to allow the shaft to go back into the cap. But I can't see how that would be done, they are pushed in by springs... is it possible to DIY or do I need to send it out...

19Fordy I have an electric fuel pump which I may activate by a switch. I don't have it on constantly. However the fuel pump does not seem help either/

Yesterday I had my 41 Coupe for a drive to a car show 52 miles one way. When I would stop for a traffic light etc within a minute the engine shut off. Started just fine. It did this all day both directions. I have never had this happen in the 22 years I have had it It ran just fine driving...
