That's good news to hear Charlie's eye surgery went well and that he is back working in his shop. I think Charlie is able to get on this website and read posted messages, but can't message anyone or reply to anyones messages.
I wish Ryan would reconside allowing Charlie to come back as a member...
Thank you for the update on 'Ol Ron. I don't come here that much myself anymore, but when I do I didn't see him posting, so I've been wondering how he was doing, and I'm very happy to hear he is doing well !!
Pretty cool to see this old post come to the top again. I recall working on my first early Ford V-8 at 14 or 15 years old and wondering why in hell would someone have put a cotter pin in an oil drain hole like that. It was also cool to see the names of some who originally posted on this thread...
bttt..... added a ps note to my original post here with picture of Charlie and Alice, since some ppl were wondering about the origin of this photo. Charlie called me about a week before Alice's passing to see if I could send him a better copy of this picture for a display of pictures he was...
LOL Ken!! You know very well I'm getting old and slow, and I actually had them all filled out when I did the CNM forms. Just need to get back home from our family vacation, and get my rear in gear on sending them out to my Favorite V8 Club Registration Team! :) :D :) :D

If you are referring to stock '36 hubcaps, the smaller diameter stainless steel center can be popped off the larger diameter part of the main hubcap by "carefully" drilling a small hole in the inside center area of the cap, while being very carefull not to drill the hole into or thru the outer...
Charlie, so sorry to tune in here a few days late and hear this sad news of Alice's passing.... may she rest in peace!
My prayers are with Alice, you and your family during these most difficult times. God Bless!

PS... I took this picture of Charlie and Alice, I believe it was ~ 2017 at a swap meet in Ohio that I just happened to find out about the day I picked up my Backyard Buddy car lift at their factory. It was just a coincidence that I ran into Charlie there at the meet...
I'm so sorry to hear this about Alice. I met them years ago at Hershey when we vended near each other. They are both terrific people and I so miss having Charlie's presence here on Fordbarn. Sending prayers for both of them.
AB1935, also note that the 4th hole in your '37 distributors cast flange on the housing, was provided by FOMOCO when that same distributor is used in another application that does not apply to your 85 hp engine.
That's another option if you don't want your engine and engine compartment to appear too be an original '35. The '37 to '48 stock type water pumps will work fine and will actually give you better cooling by pumping the coolant thru the lower block more efficiently than the early style pumps...
