Need source for 78-79 pickup parts

I have a 73 and i buy new parts local " NAPA " ,or Bronco Graveyard. L M C parts are not as good as Bronco Graveyard or local dealers. Springs you can get or have made at most spring shops. I buy a lot of new and used off of Ebay , but be careful you can get burned there . My $.02 worth. _:)

1960 f100 with 292 yblock which auto trans to use?

Since you are undecided still and ask, here it is. Do your self a favor and do as " rick55" suggested on 2-20-2012 post # 155 and forget the old "heat exchanger / cooler " . Put a good one in front of the radiator. I have been doing it that way for 20+ years and have never had any problems with...

    55/56 Ford Steering Gear Questions

I rebuilt my 56 gear at least 15 years ago but can not remember how i did it. I looked in my shop manual and the only seal i can see is at the upper end of the gear box. It look's to be inside the steering shaft cap. I don't see any retainer clips or anything holding it so it looks like you...

    trans swap

Some T-10s have both patterns , if yours is that way it will fit a lot of different ford vehicals. The last one i had was that way it was made for the 64 falcon /comet , later they dropped the old pattern off . The top loader was done the same way for a few years. During the same early years...

    Ford non electical over drive

I had one but i traded it for an AOD, not sure if that was a good move or not. Mine was planed to go behind a 292 Y-block . I friend of mine did put one behind his 64 pickup with the 292 Y-block , i sold him my shifter which have become pretty hard to find used.

Thanks that is good information for others but i don't need to find it again. It was a one owner car when i got it and i later restored it for my son. Its been sitting in my shop for the last 17 years because he never did come and pick it up. .

    Rear drum options

Sometime in the 60s , my first one was a new 64 falcon. A lot of the old timers never liked them , they said they had problems with them , i never did. I liked the system well enough that i converted my 56 fairlane over to self adjusters by using the parts from 70s era ford 1/2 ton pickup ...
