IMHO, don't forget the value of compressed air. Use the alternate up/down movement with favorite rust buster combined with blowing out the holes as part of each up/down cycle. Only two things in the hole - stud and corrosion. Each time you blow out some minor corrosion,,you will reduce friction...
What am I missing? If a Ford V-8 flathead is ready for valve adjustment, the intake must be removed for access. The engine might still be hot, but it won't be running. Perhaps the question refers to a flathead with overhead valve conversion, as maybe Ardun heads??
Thanks,51. I will be in touch in the future. I am going to try to keep this one in its current condition except to clean the grease off, get the brakes working, reupholster, replace glass, etc., and get it running if possible.

Model 51! Great to hear from you. I saw some of your posts when I first got hold of my 36 Model 51 (131.5 wheelbase) and barely knew what questions to ask. I have emailed Don Rogers for a copy of his tire spec sheet, and I know that will help. Rotorwrench has also provided some good tips on...

Can anyone point me to good reference tools to differentiate between 1 ton, 1.5 ton and larger 36 trucks? My Model 51 flatbed has the 131.5 wheelbase with duals on the rear. Also has the 21stud flathead and a 4speed ******. Thanks for any assistance. I have the s/n if it helps.
