    12volt conversion question ballast resistor

"How about the starter, many leave it wired for 6 volts, others have it rewired for 12 volts." I did this to my car (left it 6v) and pulled the ring gear off a few times, want to go through all that work to repair that??

    Wheel/drum stud swedge remover

A hole saw will work, if you get the 9/16" size, it will go over the 1/2" stud and guide you down to the swedging perfectly. Be sure to use some cutting oil. A large drill press is handy, but can be done with a hand drill using a slow speed

    New Barn Find

Not to be nitpicking, but in the interest of safety, it appears to me the left front wheel is of the earlier A type. Does the edge of the wheel touch the brake drum, or is there a gap? If there is a gap, that wheel would be unsafe to drive with on that car. Hope you take this the right way, its...

    1928 split break system replacement

Those springs shown above go in the arms, (legs) that go out to each side of the car. They are located in the end of the "ball" that gets placed in the "clamshell" openings on both sides. There are no springs on the "dogbone", that I have ever seen. I have seen a few "fixes" where after the...

    Museums, Good or Bad?

Mr Highlander.... according to the Touring Class Judging Standards, as issued by The Model A Restorers Club, (ever heard of them?) I would loose 10 points for a car with a smaller diameter wire wheel on it. How much do you loose for a "chopped top?" Please check #1 and #7 of the entry...
