To clarify my previous comment, the trans fluid has been changed every 5,000 miles as per Ford. The point of my comment was not that it has driven 30k without changing fluid, but that it has run 30k with zero issues using the same kind of oil from the same barrel, and with the same driver, thus...

While I have tried that to no difference, I think it is safe to rule out operator error or oil type as I have driven this car 30,000 miles with the same 600w oil, and have not changed my technique, and never had a problem until yesterday morning.

Ever since I topped off the (600w) oil in my transmission, I have a new odd problem: I now cannot shift from 1st to 2nd, or from 2nd to 3rd, without grinding gears when it is cold. I can downshift (double clutching of course) perfectly. Once the car has run a few miles, the problem goes away...

Good to hear. I have the new edition (4 I believe). I am not sure what my supplier did, as they went off the PPG code, but the sample they gave me is nowhere close, almost blackn when the book is much lighter/yellower.

Howdy, I am painting a '29 pickup. I have the Paint and Finish Guide, but am interested to hear how those who use this book use it. Do you simply show the color card to your paint vendor and try to find something close? PPG has a code for Rock Moss green, but it is not even close to the color...

Well, the chief practicality would come from it's having an overdrive gear. It's "step down" gear could also theoretically be useful, perhaps one could thus have a low 3rd that splits the difference between 2nd and 3rd.

Howdy! I had a question for y'all: is it possible to adapt a Warford transmission (designed for the Model T) to a Model A driveline? Seems like a neat setup could be made that way if there were a way to do so. Thanks!

Wanted: running Model A engine. Not necessarily looking for a fresh rebuild, but an engine that can be made to run adequately for a weekend driver. I am located in northeast Pennsylvania, not far from New York and New Jersey.

Greetings! Has anyone ever set up or seen an old fashioned canister oil filter on a Model A? It feels slightly sacrilegious to put an ugly modern oil filter on a Model A, hence why am curious if anyone has mounted one of these filters, like that in the photo below, that is on a V8 in the photo...
