    Headlight Switch positions Swapped?

CarlG - That is what I was thinking would be a good plan. Just curious where do you connect on the headlight and then do you run it down the Chrome wire conduit to the frame?

    Headlight Switch positions Swapped?

I have a 1929 Std Coupe. It has the 4 position switch. Left one click, Straight down, and right one click, right second click or said another way 7 o clock, 6 o clock, 5 o clock and 4 o clock. I am putting the car back together after painting and it seems to me 5 o clock used to activate low...

    My 1930 Model A

Wow, this has been a great thread to read through. Really great progress and looks like a great car. I can say after getting our A (My wife's grandfathers car) about 5 years ago, there are times when it seems like "it is always something", but keep at it. Take a break now and then and step...

    problem with laycock

I don't know anything about these and so this is probably not the problem, but the only other thought I had was whether they wired it correctly. If it was active when not on, maybe they grounded the negative side? Assuming your car is positive grounded. Just a thought.

    clueless Ford salesman

Great stories love reading these threads. Today I was at the body shop that is painting my 29 Std Coupe. My 18 year old son was with me. The guy running the place - older gentleman been in business 35 years asked my son if he knew how to drive an A. My son proudly said, you bet, I could...

    Searching for body codes

So Steve Plucker's PDF has a lot of good information and also has contact information for Dave Sturges who probably has the most information. http://www.plucks329s.org/pdf/studies/LETTERS%20AND%20NUMBERS%20AND%20CODES.pdf

    Searching for body codes

After I posted that I got to wondering if they carried over from year to year or within a year. Seems unlikely they cranked out over 3000 Tudor bodies in two months in Denver. Hmmmm. May need to do some more digging. Now I am curious

    Searching for body codes

Assuming it was the same system as every other plant, the number is the number of the body built at that plant. So that was the 3061st Tudor built in that plant

    rumble seat conversion, 29 coupe

We converted our trunk to a rumble on my wife's grandfather's 29 coupe (now in our possession) for our wedding 25 years ago. It made some great memories. My wife and I fit back there and she was in a wedding dress! I admit that I do not like taking long drives with anyone back there, but for...

    Windshield frame removal

Tried this on mine and could not in any way budge those screws. Ended up sliding frame out of the hinge. I am wondering if the screws were painted in place. Thoughts on getting these out?

    License plate clamps

production date is in front of where the driver sits on the metal cross member behind the wood floor board. There is a imprinted set of numbers and letters there. It contains a letter code for the plant location and then a number that I believe represents production number of the car within...

    LeBaron Bonney or Classtique

Another vote for Classtique. Used them for my 29 Std Coupe and everything was great.

    License plate clamps

I am curious about something regarding these dates. What date is used for this reference? My engine block which is the main number for the car has a date. But there is also a gas tank date and an assembly plant location and date. Which date do you use to call something May 1929 or June 1929?
