This car was built to "1950's standards", but stronger/safer. Engine profesionally bored/stroked (295 cu. in.), '37 Lincoln ****** w/real Zephyr gears, custom fabricated boxed/Z'd frame, "bomber" seats, S10 rear end, new Coker wide WW tires (less than 200 miles - $600.00), all lights/gauges work...

This is NOT junk! Custom built frame, bored/stroked 295 cu. in. flathead with 3/4 Usky cam and Edelbrock aluminum heads. About $10,000.00 in receipts...NOTcounting frame fabrication, rear axle, stock engine, transmission w/Zephur gears, rear end (S10), etc. Obviously, it's worth more than I have...

Just my experience, but I lowered my '40 Ford convertible with shackles in the early 1950's while in high school and drove the h*ll out of it as teenagers do. No problem, therefore wouldn't hesitate to do it again, especially considering the difference in labor and other costs. However, back...

Hmmm...I must have a different brand. I had to tap mine on with a hammer. They're not coming off. In fact, I wouldn't know how them off if I wanted to...maybe heat...dunno

I'm sorry if I wasn't paying attention and/or misunderstood part of the discussion. All I know is that mine was 239 stock and I put in a stroker kit that brought it to 295.

I can only tell you about mine...it's an 8BA that came out of a 1950 Ford.

Agree...mine is 3 3/8" (295 cu. in.).

Just a shot on the dark, but I had a car years ago that did the same thing...discovered that points gap had definitely "closed up" (I don't like filing points...too cheap to replace). If you're getting plenty of fuel (important to check not only pressure, but also volume), sounds like it has to...
