I Want To Make A Speedster

You are going to love having the speedster. Its a whole new driving experience from a closed cab Model A. As some mentioned the lighten car from lack of body parts plays a lot into acceleration and pulling on hills. One of the things I love about mine is the ability to get creative. And they...

    3rd engine failure...getting frustrated

I feel your pain. Don't give up. As you said the first two motors were unknowns so with them anything can happen at any time as you knew nothing about their history. Hopefully you can resolve your issue with the freshly rebuilt motor. As other have mentioned a well sorted motor will last...

    Fuel pump installation suggestions

Are you sure you are not just hearing the fuel pump clicking as it is pumping. Mine is mounted right behind my seat on my speedster, and when I first turn ot on it clicks fast, then as the line fills it slows. or stops.

    Fuel pump installation suggestions

I run a fuel pump with 1-2 lb pressure. I have a 15 amp fuse, and pump comes on with my ignition switch. You are correct as long as your float is not sticking there is no reason to be shutting the fuel pump off before hand. Really zero issues.

Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

I wrapped mine with leather that purchased bulk on Ebay. Glued the ends with E600 This photo was shortly after doing it, and the leather has darkened with age. I have not treated the leather. I like the look and feel. Wasn't hard to do, just takes patience...

    Engine diagnosis?

First off don't start messing with anything you haven't changed. Like the timing. I would start with making sure fuel is getting to the cylinders. Start with easiest first. Is their sufficient fuel in the tank? Is gas making it to the carb? After cranking it, are the plugs wet? If so, next...

    Won't start

Have you checked your ground from the battery? You mention nothing works so it must be something in common with all the circuits like the main fuse coming off the battery, ignition switch or the ground? Seems like if it was in the starter you would still have the other circuits working. If me I...

Are there PDF books by Les Andrews

And a trip down memory lane as you find previous smudges on certain pages. My manuals get so bad, it borderlines on ridiculous.

    Brake Light Switch Backwards

I cannot think of a scenario where it isn't the switch itself though I am not an electrical expert. Can you test e switch for resistance- zero when pedal is engaged, infinite when not depressed.
