I went out and removed the teflon tape. Gauge still remains past H. I disconnected the wire to the temperature sensor and did the battery test as recommended by Paul. The gauge slowly retreated towards the C stopping close to the middle.

I'm working on the emergency brake system on my 40. Can anyone help me with what tool to remove the hand brake lever pin clips. They are part number 91A-2106. Look like little horse shoes bent around the pin.:confused:

I am trying to assemble the parking brake cables on my car. I have all the parts except a bracket that holds the end of the front cable. The bracket is part #91A-2270. Could anyone please tell me where this bracket is installed?

I have a 40 sedan that is basically original. With the clutch pedal fully depressed, all you hear is the purring of the flathead engine. Once I release the pedal all the way up I hear a growl from the transmission area. I thought it might be the throw out bearing but I'm not sure it spins...
